Roberta Morosini, Ph.D., is Professor in the Department of European Languages and Transcultural Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles, and Director of the Summer School Leggere Mediterranea
(Alghero, Sardinia). A specialist in medieval Italian literature, her research focuses on Dante, Boccaccio, the Mediterranean as a space of mobility and cultural exchange, and geocritical approaches to literary space. She is the author of Il mare salato (Viella, 2020), Rotte di poesia (Castelvecchi, 2021), and Dante, Moses and the Book of Islam (L’Erma di Bretschneider, 2024). Her forthcoming book, Boccaccio’s Orient. Transgressive Mobilities and Identities Across Texts and Faiths in the Mediterranean (De Gruyter–Brill), inspired the conference On Land and Across the Sea (UCLA, 2025).
