Massimo Mazzotti is a professor in the Department of History at the University of California, Berkeley. He holds the Thomas Siebel Presidential Chair in the History of Science. Among his recent books: Reactionary Mathematics: A Genealogy of Purity (Chicago University
Press, 2023), and (co-edited with Morgan Ames) Algorithmic Modernity: Mechanizing Thought and Action, 1500-2000 (Oxford University Press, 2023). His current research focuses on the social and political dimensions of mid-century design and technology.
