Loreta Gandolfi (University of Cambridge), Research Grant for a project on Representing violence against women in the press. A case study from early Twentieth-Century Italy.

Loreta Gandolfi (PhD, University of Cambridge) is an Affiliated Lecturer in Film Studies in the Centre for Film & Screen Studies at the University of Cambridge. The Ragusa Foundation grant supports her book-project, in collaboration with Sara Delmedico, Representing violence against women in the press. A case study from early Twentieth-Century Italy. Dr. Gandolfi is also completing a book about the representation of infidelity in the films of François Truffaut and Eric Rohmer and preparing a documentary about the impact of Pasolini’s documentary practice. An International Programmer for several international film festivals, she currently collaborates with the Festival Internacional de Cine de Cartagena de Indias in Colombia, the oldest film festival in Latin America. She is a member of the European Film Academy, External Expert for Eurimages, Council of Europe.
