Iuri Moscardi (City University of New York), Research Grant for a project on the genesis of Cesare Pavese’s translations of American and British works into Italian.

Iuri Moscardi (Laurea from the University of Milan, MA in Italian studies from Indiana University) is a PhD Candidate in Comparative Literature at the Graduate Center, CUNY, finishing a dissertation on “Twitterature” in Italy. The Ragusa Foundation grant supports his book-project on the genesis of Cesare Pavese’s translations of American and British works into Italian. Moscardi has worked extensively on Pavese since his U of Milan’s days and is the editor of a book of essays Cesare Pavese Mythographer, Translator, Modernist (2023), as well as the editor and commentator of the forthcoming new English translation (by Julian Sachs) of Pavese’s Mestiere di vivere/ The Craft of Living (University of Toronto Press).
