Francesco Brenna (PhD Johns Hopkins University) is Assistant Professor of Italian at Towson University. The Ragusa Foundation grant supports his book-project on Sacred Epic in Renaissance Italy and England. His research focuses on Italian and English Renaissance literature and music. He is also interested in the relationship between literature and sport. He recently co-edited a special volume of MLN dedicated to Charles S. Singleton’s legacy in Dante studies and a volume on the connections between literature and science in the Renaissance for Franco Cesati. His research has appeared on journals such as I Tatti Studies, Forum Italicum, Italianistica, Paragone letteratura, Milton Quarterly, and Seicento e Settecento.
