Federica Di Blasio is a Fellow at the ICI Berlin Institute for Cultural Inquiry, where she is advancing a research project on geographic scales, (national) belonging, and metaphors of roots. She earned her PhD from the University of California, Los Angeles with a dissertation on the local/global tensions shaping the aesthetics of Cesare Pavese, Pier Paolo Pasolini, and Gianni Celati. She has published articles on migration, translation, and geophilosophical representations of the Mediterranean. Prior to joining ICI, she held appointments at the University of Georgia and Hamilton College (NY).
