Isabella Livorni (New York University), Research Grant for a project on Amelia Rosselli’s theorizations of difference in her poetic, musical, and ethnographic work.

/

Isabella Livorni (PhD Columbia University, 2023) is a Faculty Fellow in NYU’s Department of Italian Studies, where she will transition into an Assistant Professor role in 2025. Her research focuses on how writers and artists have theorized notions of cultural, racial, and linguistic difference in Italian communities after fascism. The Ragusa Foundation grant supports her current book-project on Amelia Rosselli’s theorizations of difference in her poetic, musical, and ethnographic work. Dr. Livorni proposes new ways of interpreting Rosselli’s experimentalism in the context of her intellectual networks across Europe and the United States.
