Sara Delmedico (PhD, University of Cambridge) is Adjunct Professor at the University of Bologna, Italy. The Ragusa Foundation grant supports her book-project, in collaboration with Loreta Gandolfi, on Representing violence against women in the press. A case study from early Twentieth-Century Italy. Her scholarly interests cover women’s history with a particular focus on the law and the Italian peninsula. In this regard, she has published several articles and a monograph entitled Opposing Patriarchy. Women and the Law in Action in Pre-Unification Italy (1815-1865) (London: IMLR book series, 2021). She is editor-in-chief of the history journal Chronica Mundi.
