Tullio Pagano is Professor Emeritus of Italian Studies at Dickinson College. He is a scholar of modern and contemporary Italian culture who has published extensively on late 19^th– and early 20^th-century Italian authors (Verga, Pirandello), paying special attention to the relationship between French and Italian culture, from Naturalism to Verismo and Modernism. In recent years, he has focused particularly on Mediterranean Studies and migration issues, publishing, amongst others, The Making and Unmaking of Mediterranean Landscape in Italian Literature: The Case of Liguria (The Fairleigh Dickinson University Press in Italian Series: Madison, NJ, 2015) and Italy to Argentina: Travel Writing and Emigrant Colonialism, (Amherst College Press: Amherst, MA, 2023).
